Parked in Electric Charging Place

Fifth Anniversary First Post Combo Breaker
Hi Everyone,
I received a parking notice when I accidentally parked in an electric parking spot and I paid for parking as you do.  My car is not electric, therefore I received a parking ticket, which is fine.  My issue is that I have recieved the fine, but it tells me that I have nothing to pay!  I have messaged the council website to advise of this today and I am waiting to hear back.  However I have received another letter not to ingore.
Type of Contravention:
Parked in an electric vechicle charging place during restricted hours without charging (WARNING)
What can I do.
Thanks

  • Thanks will look at this, as it is from the council not private parking.

Yes they have more experts there re Council appeals, than we have (or have time to handle) here.

Post here and don't try to register with a hotmail email or you can't post:
    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

And DON'T even start a topic there without reading several threads to see what PHOTOS they need.  DON'T post wthout pics.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

That looks to me to be the key word. Many councils have scaled down their enforcement in light of CV19, and this may be one of them. A contravention, but not being pursued.

But you're best getting more expert help from PePiPoo.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I'm normally very much anti parking invoices. However, you really shouldn't park in an EV space with an ICE car. Weirdly it looks like they aren't charging you, just trying to educate you. Pretty much the opposite of all the other PCN threads where people *are* being charged for doing nothing wrong.

    I emailed the council parking people hat I managed to find on the council site. This is what they said;

' Good afternoon, Thank you for contacting us, You have received a warning notice therefore,  we have closed the case on this occasion and no further action is required.  Please be advised if you do park in the same place again you may be liable for a PCN.'

You would have thought they would have noticed that it was a warning and nothing for me to pay! I have a feeling that the electric ports have not been there too long.  They sould have sent a letter to explain this.
Anyway, thanks for everyone for responding.
