Returning to work on a reduced salary

The crux of the issue here is your comment that you've been asked to go back, but not heard anything about your pay being reinstated to its pre-WAH level. So the answer is simple - seek clarification. I would have thought that they cannot arbitrarily cut your pay on a permanent basis unless there's something in your contract that allows such a variation without agreement, or you've agreed to it. Understanding your employer's position will enable you to make the right choice for yourself.0

Put a case together for a pay-rise.
Yes it can be done if your sector is busy and you are putting in the effort ie. more hours.
It can happen, 3 months ago if it had been said you'd get a salary pay rise or a few weeks, how do you get to like your job again, I would never have believed it.
But getting past issues at home and putting lots of hours in saw a pay rise given in these times.
(...sadly I also kind of proved the job can be ran from home but heyho.)0 -
Good luck Samboway! Sadly I fear many people would love to be in your position in a few weeks time...............................samboway said:Thank you all.I am going to discuss with them that I can’t financially afford to pay for full travel in monthly or weekly and have been working perfectly well since lockdown started and all future jobs are capable at home too so I just need them to be as flexible as myself and my colleagues have been as we’ve each done over a hundred hours overtime and working weekends but aren’t being paid for that either. Thanks once again for everyone’s responses.0 -
If they are paying you less can you negotiate to do less hours? So less travelling day. If can save travelling on one day will save you about £15 a week so will help a bit at least.
