Tracking a spy cookies,,how root out the bane?

Why is it that, even though I have my Firefox browser set to "ask me each time" before a cookie is placed, I still find tracking cookies installed ,when I use a cleaner?

is there a way tp prevent their being set, either via my software firewall (Comodo) or my router (Netgear)?

  • Using the Firefox extention NoScript stops a great deal of them (~90%), but you have to sometimes click Allow Javascript on the extension icon as many sites use Javascript for other reasons.

set FF to delete all cookies on closure, and then there is nothing to track between sessions.

Also, if you do use IE, set it to block 3rd party cookies.

And you can either use the flash control panel or ccleaner to delete flash cookies.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
