Furlough and annual leave

Hi,
Sorry if this question has been asked, but I'm a Software Engineer currently on my 2nd week of a planned 3 week (for now) furlough period. My company does a kind of statutory leave where the whole place shut's down. Next week is one of the weeks where it's closed for Whitsun. I'll be losing 5 of my days annual leave, are they able to do that or can I question this?
Kind Regards,
Mat

Have they given you 2 weeks notice of it? If so, yes. But they will need to pay you at full rate.
Begs the question though...why is it an issue for you this year when it clearly sounds like its an annual occurance anyway?0 -
Yeah they're able to.0

If it is an annual occurrence, which sounds almost certain, then it would be easy for them to argue that notice has already been given.bradders1983 said:Have they given you 2 weeks notice of it? If so, yes. But they will need to pay you at full rate.
