I have a Toyota auris and noticed the other day what looks like a ring shaped part had fallen off the underside of my car. I've attached a picture, it anyone knows what it might be that would be great, I haven't noticed any difference when driving the car etc. Thanks in advance.

Doesn't appear to be a spring coil. It could be just about anything. Flat? Metal, plastic?

It's metal and flat, it's really rusted on the other side that you can't see, probably why it's dropped off with it being so corroded. Just to add, there's a possibility it could be from my partners car due to us swapping places on the drive, she has a citroen ds3 but neither of us has noticed anything with how our cars drive.

    Possible spring surface rust.

Jack the car up, wheels off and have a good luck at all springs.  It could have broken and stayed in position so nothing feels wrong.

I've bagged the parts up and I'm going to take it round to my local garage see what they find, hopefully it's not going to be expensive!

Part of a badly rusted brake dust cover?

Just an update, found out from the local garage it wasn't my car, turned out it was my partners citroen.
Apparently it's nothing to worry about, think she said they told her it was part of the front brake cover, over a few years it's become rusted and its fallen off but nothing that would need replacing which is a relief.
