Airbnb Cancellation

I put a refund request in today to Airbnb for a booking which was due to take place at the end of June. It said that if I submitted the cancellation, I would be eligible for the equivalent in Airbnb credit. It wasn't until I processed the request, that I realised the credit has an expiry of 14th August 2020 (less than three months).
During the period of uncertainty how does Airbnb expect me to make another booking? Most other companies have issued credit vouchers with reasonable expiry dates in the cases of guest cancellation.

Did you miss that disclosure of the credit validity before clicking to process?
If disclosed yet overlooked I think you are snookered. You could I guess contact them asking nicely for a possible extension.0 -
Did you cancel before the Airbnb date window was open for cancellations? I had 2 Airbnb’s booked for early June and they weren't available for cancellation until 1st May. I clicked on the cancellation for both and received a voucher valid until 31/12/21 for one and a refund into my bank account for the other. The voucher came immediately the refund back into my bank account within 24 hours. Vouchers/refunds depend on the hosts Individual cancellation policy.
I would think your voucher will be to book before 14/8 not travel by but you would need to contact Airbnb if you can’t see it in the T&C’s.
Don’t know what the helpline wait times are like though as Airbnb have had to make redundancies due to the lack of business.
(Just for info all UK accommodation is blocked out for new bookings by Airbnb at the moment until the end of May but they do keep extending the block as the situation evolves)Throughout this whole pandemic I have found Airbnb have tried their best with both travellers and hosts and support for their staff, but that’s just my personal opinion. (I am a host as well as a traveller), I’m not having as much luck with my Easy Jet voucher though.
Good luck0
