Default Removal

Has anybody been successful in requesting the removal of a default? I was in a payment arrangement with Halifax back in 2015 to repay an overdraft after a relationship breakdown left me in financial difficulty. I had been in the payment arrangement for quite a few months until Halifax called one day and said I shouldn't of been in a payment arrangement and they were passing the arrangement to Wescot, issuing me with a backdated default and reducing my balance by £150 as way of compensation. I then continued the arrangement with Wescot, is the default correct or would I have a chance of having it removed?
** I should of also mentioned the accounts were also settled with Wescot years ago so I am no longer in any arrangement.

You could try, but the default is much better than the arrangement. You only have a year left, whereas the arrangement will be there for six years from closure.
You'd be mad to get it changed.0 -
Sorry I should of also mentioned the accounts were also settled with Wescot years ago so I am no longer in any arrangement.0

It depends how long you want a negative market on your credit files for.0

That is why I am asking if anybody has been successful in having a default removed based on the circumstances I have written above. The default is dated 2015, the account was paid off and closed years ago so the negative mark will disappear next year but I am asking if it is possible to have it removed sooner, if anybody has had experience or success in doing that.0

No, as the marker is factually accurate. It's the best one you could have.0
