Elderly Parents - locate their bank accounts?

Hi. I have LPoA over my parents financial affairs. Both have dementia. We would like to have visibility of their bank accounts, to ensure bills (home insurance etc) are being paid but cannot find their bank account details, where they are held, who with etc. Is there any service available where one can apply to have all active bank accounts for a person revealed? I have had a look at mylostaccount.org but that service appears to focus on finding dormant accounts.
Many thanks
John

Hi,are there no paper statements lying about, or paperwork for electricity, gas, phone?Did they used to use internet, check mail inbox/junk, for old messages.0

They don't have any debit cards or cheque books laying around? It won't show savings accounts but a standard credit report will list all of the active current accounts and credit cards they have.0

Hi all and thanks for the feedback/advice. We have identified a couple of accounts from paperwork laying around, but the problem is that " we don't know what we don't know". I think a credit check may be the best option.
Cheers

Both in receipt of state pension/AA perhaps? Have you contacted DWP? This will enable you to find out where the pensions are going.
Do either have occupational pensions? Again, to which bank are they paid - administrator will know.
It is likely that utilities/house insurance etc came from these.
Have they any premium bonds/other NS&I? You could check.
Did your parents make wills? If so, this might give some indication of assets.
Did they ever have any dealings with HMRC? Might be worth a check.

if you simply want to find out what accounts they have then you could write to each of the likely banks in the uk (there are not that many of them) asking if your parents have an account there.0

What can you see from the paperwork you do have ? Do the statements show income - DWP, works pension - payments - Council Tax or a lot of cheques.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill2
