hello,
how do i activate email icon on word (office 2007) ??
i am on windows mail (vista).
eg. when i type a document on word and want to send direct to someone by email, i should be able to click on email icon above document and just send, but it doesn't seem to link.
i've tried and tried googling the answer to this + of course the word help section on office but cannot find answer.
if you can help i'd be very grateful, thanks.

Not being an Icon person, in Word I just use File - Send To
However, if you go into View - Toolsbars and select email the icon will be added to your toolbar.

In the top left of Word, click the double headed arrow to the Right of the Quick Access bar, 1 and then click More Commands 2
Click Email and click Add
Click OK

hello,
thanks so much for your replies and for the advice.
i am, however, still missing something else... the link itself is not active somehow. eg if i want to send the document to other people and i follow either of your ways of so doing - i cannot light up the actual link to send via email - it's "dead" as it were. for some reason, the "internet fax" option which is beneath the "email" option is active and lights up when the cursor hovers over it - yet i do not have a fax!
thanks again for advice given - and any more if it's out there !

Office 2007 wasn't designed to work with Windows mail.
Don't shoot me, shoot the M$ Office team. I'm only the messenger of bad tidings!
It will only work with Outlook 2007 as your default email application
The only way to send it would be as an attachment to your regular email app, whatever that may be. If you do decidse to make Use Outlook, make sure that it is set as your default mail app
The only program in Office 2007 that does work with Windows mail is One Note0
