I have read through the F&Q's and I honestly can not get my head around it. I understand Northern Ireland is different so I ignored the initial correspondence from APCOA regarding the fine, the car was parked on private land policed by Apaco.

Now I have received a letter from ZZPS claiming for the debt that i owe. I am honestly so confused about where I stand right now.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Do you mean APCOA?
Why not just read other APCOA threads and copy how to win?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You just need to ignore it. How many ways can we dress this up?  See what ensues, because we've never seen anything that ensues in NI. What more can we tell you to do? Seriously?

if you're that bothered by it all ...... get your chequebook out, pay the scammers .... and get it out of your life.

Always thought it was the plan to ignore which I am doing, It is just once debt collection gets flagged up you panic.

I guess that is the idea of the letters.

Exactly, letters, letters, letters. If letters scare you, you're in trouble!

    of course it is

but there is no keeper liability in N I, plus anyone with common sense does not reveal the drivers details

a debt letter is just a worthless piece of paper , so unless a judge , sherriff or whatever you have over there says you personally owe some money, you dont owe anyone a penny

I have read through the F&Q's and I honestly can not get my head around it.

In which case pay up or ignore. we cannot help you unless you understand the rules of the game, after all, it is not rocket science.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies
