Ovo New Billing system breaks Interest Reward

Ovo have moved to a new billing system.
This month saw my consumption drop below the monthly direct debit account - the credit balance shown on the bill went up slightly. (pushed the balance up)
April had one day less than March. (would have pushed the reward payment down)
The amount of reward credited this month was just under 90% less than last month.
I suspect their new system thinks that 5% means 0.05 which means a £0.05(before VAT) bill credit.
Email sent, I await the excuses.

Always treat things like the "Interest reward" as a perk rather than a guarantee, I say.  Nice if you get it, not a major disaster if you don't.  Bit like cashback through Topcashback and friends.  Never guaranteed, but nice if it works.

    Are you joking?
This is advertised up front as part and parcel of their business offering. Customers leave a credit balance on their account because of this offering. It's the kind of USP that increases resistance to moving away from Ovo.
It isn't a perk, and it's not "nice if it works". It's an upfront, integral part of Ovo's offer. There is none of the  "if it tracks" or "we depend on third party involvement" risks that you get with Topcashback, various card reward schemes et al.
If they want to withdraw or modify their offer - so be it, I'll make a decision based on the new landscape, but in the meantime, I'm trying to find out if anyone else has had the same experience.

I was with OVO for 2 years very good rate through Energy Club. This ended  last October .I was getting the rewards on this package think about per year £60. plus interest on credit balance, Offered me new tariff which was a little higher than some others. But factored in the rewards and interest and stuck with them.Plus the fact  i though VAT was included.Once i signed up no rewards as they said this was not a standard tariff and VAT not included ..

That would be grounds for a complaint, businesses are not permitted to offer products to consumers on consumer specific websites without showing the price inclusive of VAT.
