eDreams - Avoid

We should've been in Zimbabwe in March/April but that obviously was cancelled. I'd never heard of eDreams, but the price for the flights was good, so I booked with them last October.
When the flights were cancelled I received and email saying I could rebook for later dates, or receive vouchers. We were happy to rebook for end of October/early November this year. I entered the new flight dates on their website and thought that was it done, all very easy. Except I didn't receive any confirmation about the flights for 3 weeks, I appreciate they're busy with all that's going on, but 3 weeks is too long so I called them. On hold for absolutely ages, and passed around various different people.
I eventually get put through to someone who tells me that because the flights I wanted to change to were over a year since I originally booked the first flights, I couldn't rebook and would have to receive a voucher. No notes on the original email about that, no notes on the system when I was putting in the new flights, nobody bothered to contact me to let me know. I ask for a refund and they tell me that's not possible. They can only give me vouchers. We go back and forth for a while and eventually they agree that they can give me a refund, but I'll have to wait 90 days.
I agree, and rebook the new flights (not through eDreams) on my credit card, while a await my refund.
However, I checked my junk mail and I still get an email every few days from eDreams asking for my permission to send me vouchers. It's been about 40 days since I asked for the refund to be processed...and I've no idea if it's actually happening.
Avoid them.

On the Air Travel board of TRipadvisor, eDreams are often referred to as eNightmares. There's many threads - some going back years - about this company and their shoddy service.1

What method of payment did you use? as if the reviews are anything to go by, 90 day will become 120, then 150 etc.
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.
