Saniflo making buzzing sound

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum so bare with me. I've seen lots of posts about Saniflos on here, which is why I'm posting here.
Yesterday, our Saniflo started making this low pitched humming sound, its not the same sound as when it is flushing though, and it happens every so often, and then stops for about 30 mins. The humming sound lasts for about 5 mins. It is possible that sanitary waste has been put down the toilet and I don't think it's been serviced since it was put in.
Is it best to get a plumber to have a look and how much do you think it would cost?
Cheers

Not a nice job but simple to strip it down and give the insides a good clean.
We had a saniflow and I had to do this regularly even though we were careful with what went down the toilet.
I did find that certain brands of toilet paper were not disintegrating very well, we ended up using one specially made for septic tanks and this worked well.1 -

I've just flushed the toilet to see what would happen, the saniflo did nothing and water rose above the toilet seat (oops). It's still making a humming sound every so often, is it safe to assume that its blocked?

Almost certainly. It's trying to push the blockage through. If it needs a service anyway then you may as well get it done with that as they should be serviced every year. It stinks to high heaven when you open it up 😬
We use Pumpmaster. You do need a specialist in Saniflo.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Update, a man from Saniflo came and took it all apart, no blockage at all, just the motor had failed. Looks like its gonna be a new machine 🤷1
