What's "dodgy" about putting the sink in your normal landfill waste?
Some councils (mine included) clearly state that any building or DIY waste is prohibited from going in with general household refuse.

As far as our council go this is classed as hard core and has to be paid for. £13 a load.
Get caught trying to dump it the other rubbish and you are in trouble. As they watch you like hawks.

The bin men are due tomorrow, hopefully they will take the old sink that is in several pieces at the bottom.

Or put it in a thick bag and attack it with a hammer first

The bin men took the sink surprisingly. Must have been well hidden.

Left us with loose taps. Have ordered a set of box spanners to see if I can tighten them myself.

Why do i always get the cowboys 🤠?

you would be better off with a basin wrench ( screwfix)  a box spanner wont fit on unless you remove the pipework

Be careful not to over tighten them or you may need a new new sink!
