14 year old depositing money into his own bank account

So I’ve saved up some money and I want to put it in my bank account so I can spent it online. I’ve never really entered a bank before in my life. Would anyone at the bank have a problem with me carrying quite a bit of money with me? And it there a maximum amount of money that can be deposited in those machines so I don’t have to go up to those counters? I’d really appreciate the help. Thank you and stay safe!

The Banking Forum would be the appropriate place for this!

If you don't have an account yet it is probably better to open one first and then at a later date take money in with you.
You will need parental authorisation to open an account.
If you don't have an account yet you won't be able to use any of the machines as there is no account to send it to.

I already have one. It’s for 13 to 18 year olds. It’s called Halifax Express cash or something like that and it’s just a normal everyday spending account but with a few less features than a typical adults account

In that case it will be fine for you to take cash in to the bank and to pay it in (assuming your bank is open)

That's exactly what banks are there for.

You should also check with your account if it is possible to pay money into your account using the Post Office.

OK?  How much money do your parents not know you have? And when did you open your online "bank account"?

Halifax is only open 10-2 weekdays at the moment, I believe.

If your account has a card you can use the machines, 50 notes max per transaction but nothing stopping you standing there and doing another and another if you have more than 50, although you may annoy people in the queue!

If you do go to the counter with a large sum, given your age you may be asked where you got it. How much is it?
