Credit card usage has been, well, hideous this week. I thought having a credit card specific diary here would help...not yet!

OH MY GOODNESS.I feel quite sick.

Time to pick myself up, cut the card up and get back on track.

Is your credit card on 0%? If not have you tried to see if you can get a 0% balance transfer? I know you have said about an EF but Martin Lewis is recommending any savings should go to debt first. Savings are earning next to no money but interest incurring credit cards are expensive. Hope this helps. X

Ah, my credit card bill has now edged over the £4,000 mark.
I have some things to return and my £100 direct debit goes out next week so it will go under £4,000.
I can't wait to tackle it. My current plan of attack:
    11th June £100 = 3,900     11th July £100 = 3,800      11th August £100 = 3,700     11th September £200 = 3,500
    11th October £200 = 3,300   11th November £200 = 3,100     11th December  £150 = 2,950 .
Throw any extra income at it.
    Yes, it is on 0%.

Don't let it get you down. This virus has kicked up some weird expenses. You're returning what you can and getting right back on the horse. I've done much worse and as long as you keep going you can't fail. Xxx
    Loan 1 £5200/£8000
    Loan 2 £300/£5800

Would really make things easier if you could use the SOA and then format for MSE.

Ashamed to say that my cc debt is currently £4250. I cut up the card today. I've changed my direct debit so I will be paying £150 a month. My second job has re-started so anything I earn from that will go towards the credit card. That is possibly another £100-£150 a month.

Got a pile of bits to sell. Must get that all photographed and listed this week.

I've got myself a budgeting book and I am hoping that will act as a spending diary and stop me from frittering!

I'd like to bring this debt down to under £2200 by Spring 2021.

I'm focused on menu planning, no spend days, Click and Collect grocery shopping and making sure I leave the house with snacks!

Don't know if you're still around, pidge, but I wanted to say hi & you've done so well since 2018, I know you'll conquer this too! It's annoyingly normal that our debts creep up when we need them to go down, and it's not like the last 18 months have been norma for any of us, but we just have to keep going. You can do it! Hope you are well.
