Safety System inlet hose for Washing Machine -How to remove?

I was wondering how to remove the safety inlet hose from the water supply as i have a small leak from the bottom of the hose. There is a little flap on a plastic ring between the two main parts at the top of the pipe; but not sure if you need to keep this down to release the pipe. Picture 2 shows the red indicator which i'm told means that it is broken (however the washing machine still works) when the water is switched on. Very reluctant just to use brute force to remove the connections to the water pipe. Any help gratefully accepted.

Hold that little tab down towards the body of the unit, and then turn the brown bit anti-clockwise and unscrew it off the supply.0
