I have not been on this forum for many  years. Sorting through some old paperwork I found my logging in details and after a change of password here I am. In my last diary I wanted to be debt free by the time I was 50, well 50 has come and gone! I am heading for my 52nd birthday  in a few months time and I still have a large amount of debt to clear, £14412.52 to be precise.
I have lacked motivation over the last few years to clear the debt due to a lot of thing happening in a short space of time that take away you energy and the want to make changes in life. Before lockdown started I was signed off work with mental health issues and this is still my currant situation. I want to go back to work however done see this happening just yet. Being home has given me time to think about my situation and where I want to be in a few years, which is working for myself from home, I am looking into building different income steams to enable me to do this.
Looking forward to the journey! hopefully this is a sign that my mental health is improving as I haven't made any plans for a while.
Thank you for reading.

    Hi Doris,
I am a similar age and determined to be debt free by my sixties. I am starting tomorrow with a plan to pay the lot off hopefully over the next couple of years. Good luck in your journey x

    Good Morning,
This morning I need to go to the post office and drop of two parcels that sold over the weekend. One is going to a Scottish Ireland, courier company change way to much to deliver there and the other is large letter. Haven't been to the post office in weeks and my anxiety levels are rising just thinking about going. Also need to pick up my prescription which is ready and waiting at the chemist. So daily walk today will incorporate these two activities.

Prescription picked up and parcels posted. Wasn't that bad in the post office there was one other person in there. Very sad to learn that the post office will be closing at the end of the month and has to relocate building. Unknown when this will happen. Sad news for our small town.

Just finished make two cakes, had some eggs that needed to be used, house is starting to smell wonderful. Mr D is currently in the greenhouse planting tomato plants we were kindly gifted as our seeds failed. Cant imagine summer without home grown tomatoes. Need to pick some lettuce leaves to make a salad for dinner this evening. Love being able to go out into the garden and pick our own fresh food.
Today has been a business spend day - postage costs and a personal NSD, been keeping track since the start of May and I have achieved 13 NSD so far this month.

Very excited tis morning as I am home alone, first time for weeks and weeks. Mr D had a call from the local hospital yesterday to attend an appointment that was cancelled at the start of lockdown.

    Here is my debt breakdown.
    Loan £1592.55 - 11 payments left.
    CC1 £3086.07 - 0%
    CC2 £4238.27 0%
    CC3 £5495.93 0%
When the 0% run out I am going to look at life of balance transfer as I think this may work out cheaper and will be less stressful as I wont have to look for 0% deals.

  • Hi Doris, I have a similar amount of debt and also struggle with my mental health (likely a big reason for the amount of debt I'm in). Best of luck with your journey and sending you positive vibes, health and wealth! 💕

This morning I have been to the post office again as I had another parcel heading of to a Scottish Ireland, instead of walking I took the car as I haven't driven it for about three week and the last time I only drove up and down the street, it felt strange being behind the wheel, felt more relaxed when I got back home.
I have spend the rest of the morning watching a channel on YouTube talking about financial planning and I have been making printable sheets to track NSD, expenses, savings and debt etc. I am very much a pen and paper person and I like the idea of tracking my progress on a daily/weekly/monthly basic. Feeling more motivated now to get this debt paid back. Going to spend some time this afternoon making notes for a financial plan.

@DarknessIntoPower thank you for stopping by. Yes I think my mental health has a lot to do with my debt issues and the way I spend my money. :(  Good luck on your journey and positive vibes, health and wealth send to you.
