Hi, i need your help. I am going out of my mind trying to make a decision on a Pram, sounds daft but this is my first child due in July and i want to get things right. I have fallen inlove with Silver Cross Elegance Travel System someone is selling one second hand for £100 but the tyres are flat. Can people please comment on their experience on the Silver Cross Elegance Travel System and what they thought of it especially the tyres. Would be a great help!
Thank you in advance

My first piece of advice would be to stop trying so hard to get things right. You have plenty of mistakes ahead of you, and 99% of them will actually be no big deal.
Does the System do what you need it to do? I had a large carrycot / pram from my aunt, which was Silver Cross, and it was great once I had a large hall to park it in. It was a nightmare to get into the car.
As the boys outgrew that, I had a Silver Cross pushchair, secondhand, which again I parked in the hall. That was also a nightmare to get it into the car, and I found the handles a bit on the low side.
But I rarely had access to the car, and we didn't need it for most things, so that didn't matter. Once I did start to need a car, I bought a secondhand folding job which I generally preferred to the Silver Cross, except that there was a large flat tray at the bottom which was much better than on the other one.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Have you physicaly seen and tried this pram? I'm not familiar with it but my friend had a silver cross ( a long time ago her kids are in their mid-late 20s) absolutely beautiful and sturdy, but took up all the room in her boot when folded and couldn't be folded with one hand.
With no hallway with my first, straight into living room from front door, the pram I had had to fold up into my small hatchback car. When youngest came along, I had a large hallway but we now lived a drive away from the town centre or I needed to use the train to get there, so it had to be suitable for that.

We have a Silver Cross Pioneer and I love it. It’s good quality, easy to push and I can fit a lot of shopping in the basket. It’s really easy to switch between the car seat, carry cot and pushchair and to fold, though it can’t be done with one hand. However it is bulky, not a problem for us but we’d struggle if we had smaller cars.

The elegance is lovely but it is HUGE! a real PITA around shops, on narrow pavements, busy town centres and getting in to the car. Don't even consider it if you need to use public transport. It doesn't fold small, so going to small cafes and things will also be a pain.
My friend had one, and though she loved it, it got virtually no use due to how big and cumbersome it was. She swapped it out for a stroller at around 4 months. Having said that, £100 is quite a bargain!
Tyres are easy to come by - most bike shops will order then in for you.1
