Money Transfer and its use on same account

Hi,

I currently hold a credit card with Halifax. On that card a proportion (approx 2k) has just come out of its 0% promotional period. I was looking to hopefully transfer the 2k balance, using another promotional rate, on a empty historical credit card with Barclays but they currently have no offers available.

However, my halifax does have available a balance transfer offer aswell as a money transfer one. The question Im really getting at is... can I money transfer approx 2k to my current everyday account and then use it to pay off that same 2k on the same halifax credit card account, in effect, giving that 2k an extended 0% period to pay off?

It seems logical unless im missing something (hopefully not common sense) but im struggling to find any clear answers from halifax themselves or a generic search via google!

Thanks for reading
