Sky Shotgun Cable Cut

Hi guys I would like to add another Sky Plus Box to our setup.. Currently a shotgun cable enters the house at which point one of the cables has been cut and the other one leads to where the Sky box is currently situated..
I have no issue fishing lines in and out of walls to position a new cable but am a bit clueless to Sky's setup..
I assume the cable coming in is an RG6 Shotgun cable, so can I just use the cut bit of RG6 to attach a new wire and run this to where the new sky box will be? If someone could advise and tell me exactly what I need to purchase that would be brill,.
Thanks,

You will have to run a new shotgun cable from the Sky LNB on the dish to the 2nd Sky + box. You will have to make sur the the LNB has 2 spare outputs for the new cable.purpleozzie1 said:Hi guys I would like to add another Sky Plus Box to our setup.. You will need 4 X f-connectors for the new cable , 2 the LNB and 2 at the new box.
You need 2 connectors because 1 input records 1 channel and the other input is needed to view a live channel.
Are you sure that box you have now is a Sky + box because it should not have just 1 cable going to the back. Can you watch and record at the same time?

Wouldn't it be easier to switch to SkyQ? Additional mini boxes are wi fi connected.0

It maybe an option for the OP.Silvertabby said:Wouldn't it be easier to switch to SkyQ? Additional mini boxes are wi fi connected.
I don't think Sky are doing any installs to sometime in mid June and that is if you can get through to them if you want to talk to a human as the OP might want to see what offers Sky could give them.
