Available Credit

Hello,

I've just reviewed my credit report for the first time in a while and have noticed that I still have an active credit card with a £1000 limit. I applied for this card with the intention of using it, but never actually have. Would it be better to keep or close this account?

Would this be classed as low credit utilisation as its less than 50%, or is it more damaging to my score to have the £1000 showing as available credit?

Many thanks

Your score is completely and utterly irrelevant, no lender uses the mickey mouse number the CRAs generate. Either option makes little difference to your credit worthiness so close it, keep it open whatever makes you feel happier. One showing a high limit with low utilisation does more to help you than one with a low limit.
