When thurs arrived no delivery so on the friday rang argos to be told that i had not been allocated one. they said that they would just put the money back into my account. But surely if i had a order no and they had taken the money we are bound into a contract. If the money goes back into your account and you've got a £10 gift voucher out of it I don't see what your problem is?

I've they've ran out then they've ran out, they can't make stock come out of thin air, nor would any contract expect them to, they'd just have to refund you, which they have/are doing & you've got a £10 gift voucher.............so?

Just get it from somewhere else if you can find one. It's not as if it's the 23rd of december and they'd only just told you.
  • well one problem could be that the OP could have lost more than £10 by sitting in their house all day?

Id b seriously cheesed off too, i had a similar thing with a fridge - but they wanted to deliver it 6 weeks later than the original delivery date which was 4 weeks from when i ordered. I canceled, wouldnt use their home delivery service again tbh

It would depend on if the op lost income. If the op either had a day off or swapped a shift if they could then they've not lost anything.

    Hi Woody,

I don't have advice for you but I understand how * off you must be. I think this is a totally disgraceful way to treat a customer. :eek:You must be totally gutted not to get a Wii...I feel for you mate...To think that you had one and that find out you don't - that's tough. £10 is insulting and doesn't adequately reflect the inconvenience you've been put through. I would keep going with a customer complaint if you have the time. If you are pushed for time walk away and where ever possible shop somewhere else. There is a Wii thread on the "quick grabbit while you can" board - MSEers are spotting Wiis. Good luck.

Only in the UK, probably because Nintendo are restricting supply intentionaly, no problems in Europe getting one
  • Well I am totally disgusted with Argos. I ordered a Nintendo Wii on Friday online and checked with Argos at lunchtime to make sure my order had gone through and was assured that it had, and as requested delivery (which I had paid extra for) would be yesterday (Saturday).

I waited in all day and guess what, no delivery. Just phoned up Suzanne at Argos Customer Service and told initially they could not find my order. Eventually she admitted she had found my order, but for some reason the information had not been passed through to the delivery section. She then said there were no Nintendo Wii's in stock, so I would have to phone back in on Friday morning and try to order another one. When I asked whether payment had gone through she confirmed it had, and she could give me my money back but this would take a week to process. Even though they have my money, and have messed up my order, they refuse to reserve me one when they are next in.

How can a company be allowed to behave in this way. Without the refund, I can't even go elsewhere.

Incidentally when I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told Argos doesn't have any working on a Sunday. Surely someone has to be in charge don't they?????

Any advice welcome as I am absolutely fuming.

    Take it further??

You got your money back and £10, what more do you expect?

Trading standards to call in an airstrike on Argoses HQ?

OP: you've a legitimate complaint if you were financially disadvantaged as a result of your Argos experience.

If you weren't, and you didn't lose a day's pay, then you've just been financially advantaged by Argos.

Usually, that's thought to be pretty good customer relations.

sorry kentgirl to here you are in the same situation as myself

The question of am i out of pocket is i took a days holiday for the delivery so financial wise i am not out of pocket. But i have used a days holiday when i could of had it over christmas to be with my family.

Also when i asked if i could speak to a supervisor i was put on hold with the music for about 5 minutes then they just cut me off. When i rang back i got someone different and she said there was a problem with the phones.

The general impression i am getting is i am lucky to be getting a £10 gift voucherbut surely they should be doing more like letting me reserve one when they come back in stock. As they still have my money
