Refunds because of the Pandemic

Because of the current situation I will be getting quite a number of refunds to my credit card - after all, we were long ago advised to pay with your credit card because you have a better chance of getting your money back if anything goes wrong! My question is - now my credit card company will owe me money - so how do I go about getting them to pay it back to me.  When my cancelled holiday money comes in will I have to just keep using my card to get the balance back to zero?

Give them a call and ask for the in credit balance to be transferred back to your current account.

If its Barclaycard, you can request this via secure message

In my case they were happy to transfer the whole of my holiday refund to my bank account, leaving the pre refund balance on my card. Process was also very quick.

Worth nothing that not ever credit card will do this. Most will only, as an example, send you £2000 back if you had £1000 on there to begin with and someone refunds you £3000

We received refunds for a holiday and flights last week to a Nationwide Credit Card.
One quick call and the transfer of funds to our Nationwide account was arranged and has already been received.
It's against the T's & C's of many credit cards to permit a positive balance to accrue and most banks are well aware of the situation with refunds and appear to be arranging to transfer these from cc's back to customers pretty efficiently.
