You can arrange to switch to another tariff (or supplier) whenever you like. We may object if you owe us money. If your tariff has an end date, we might charge you a fee, known as an exit fee, if you switch more than six weeks before that date. Your confirmation letter will tell you about this.

Isn't the penalty-free switching window seven weeks and not six?

Probably a typo, because on my existing E.ON tariff it clearly states no exit fees if I leave within the last 49 days of my 12 month contract, ie 7 weeks. I'm on the E.ON Fix Online Exclusive v6. They also mention 49 days on their latest Fix Online v38 tariff:

Quite possibly. But far from ideal to make careless typos in important documents which form part of the contract.

Sure, if they hit me with a charge for leaving within weeks 6 to 7. Meanwhile an E.on forum rep might wish to raise this internally.
