STA Travel refund

I booked to travel abroad with STA travel at the end of March. I was advised by them to request for them to cancel my booking which I did to get my money back. They will only give me a booking credit and not cash refund me? I have had nothing official through to say how much I have, when it expires etc.. is there anything I can do to get my refund in cash rather than a credit note.

What did you book with STA? what method of payment did you use? How was it billed (was there one transaction)

We booked various flights and hotels with them. It wasn’t a pre set package deal as we selected where we wanted to go and stay and they sorted it out for us. Paid using a credit card and debit card (Two of were flying). Paid all in one transaction.0

Great, then you have a "package holiday" underkmholmes said:We booked this on the 31st January 2020
The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018
You booked hotel & flights so that two different types & you made a single payment.
There is no doubt it's a "package holiday" no matter what STA might try and claim.
You are entitled to a cash refund withing 14 days and you do not have to take a voucher.
I would go back to STA and try and get them to refund you quoting

If they still refuse, go to your card companies ( you can go straight to card companies if you want)
