Section 75 credit card refund

Good Morning
Like many people I have had 2 holidays cancelled due to Covid, one through Expedia and one booked through Vacations to go (US company paid in dollars) both at over £100.
I have phoned my credit card provider and tried to submit a claim through section 75, however they have advised that because these holidays were booked through 3rd party agents, they are unable to dispute a claim, and that I need to contact the agents directly, of which I cannot get through too.
Is this correct of the Credit Card company?

Yes, it's correct. In order to make a successful s75 claim you have to be able to show that you paid the actual supplier of goods or services, so if you use intermediaries such as travel agents, that eliminates any s75 rights.
This is explained in the MSE s75 article: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases/
