I applied for a small BBL through Starling. It's been declined and they can't give a reason.
I meet all the criteria that was listed by them and the government.
Anybody else had this, I know I can apply through another lender but it mean opening up anothet business account etc.

I have applied for the BBLS and was denied it from Starling Bank! I could not upload to them, tax returns from 2019/2020. I opened my 'business' September 2019 and only just received a letter from HMRC for tax returns 2020/2021 and have until January 2021 to submit online. In the application to Starling Bank, there was no 'area' to offer an explanation. This is very disappointing and as far as I am aware, this was the only support being offered to me...Any advice would be very much appreciated please.

I am sure it doesn't apply to you, but there are a surprisingly high number of people stating they started a new business 28th February and were going to turnover £200k so now want this easy loan £50k. It's good the banks are doing checks against fraud.0 -
Martin Lewis tweeted this last night:
"Just wanted to say I am aware of all the complaints about @StarlingBank rejections esp for sole traders (and some say they've had credit checks). We'll try and find out what on earth's happening on Monday.
Meanwhile if rejected you can still apply at another bank. https://twitter.com/stevembsm/status/1261394796335075328 "
