Ukpc

Children since have been small but healthy babies, I wasnt planning on having anymore but when the pregnancy test come up as positive I was so happy, unfortunately I suffered with pre eclampsia so my blood pressure was high the whole pregnancy, and with my previous history I received extra care the whole time, I attended weekly appointments to check to make sure me and baby were well however on the 29th November 2019 I attended what was meant to be a routine appointment in which they discovered I was having a seizure and my blood pressure reached life threatening levels (mini stroke). They rushed me to theatre and fortunately managed to keep my baby inside me for another 2 weeks i managed to get to 36 weeks ,however my son was born with a life threatening condition called necrotizing enterocolitis which affects premature babies bowels, he was whisked away from me to a London hospital where he stayed for three weeks in intensive care. However the point I'm trying to make is when I went to hospital to attend what I thought was a routine appointment and suffered that seizure my car was hit with a parking ticket, I appealed but they didnt accept, where do i stand within the fact i had no choice in extending my car park ticket and mine and my unborn babies life was on the line and i was in no place to change that. I have tried appealing it and they have rejected it. I have emailed them saying i will not be paying it and would rather be took to court but just wondering if anyone else has been through anything similar thanks ed.x

If the UKPC ticket was given in the NHS car park, just get PALS to cancel it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

and get your MP involved as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams,
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

I hate the scamming UKPC with a vengeance, and one of the reasons is that your circumstances no matter how awful, tragic or sad they may be will not budge these scum buckets greed.I have had two of their carefully constructed fake tickets and their threatening scamming debt recovery company's silly letters but never given them a penny.Follow the advice given on here start with PALS, (one of my charges was cancelled through a hospital's intervention) UKPC will be feeling the pinch now their horrible boss will have to delay buying his next Merc, don't give the Muppet your money.5

Have you read the sticky thread for NEWBIES yet that asks you to read it before you start a new thread?
Start with complaints to PALS and the hospital trust manager/CEO as advised. Also complain to your MP and the Prime Minister who said several months ago that he was going to stop this sort of thing.
You should have received a PoPLA code when your initial appeal was rejected. If the complaints don't work, and you are still within the 28 day appeal window, appeal to PoPLA as per the third post of the NEWBIES. Show us your draft appeal before you submit it. Get pics of the site and signage to include in the appeal.
During the current covid situation you can quickly submit a short appeal adding a statement that you will make a more detailed appeal once PoPLA is up and running normally again in order to give you more time.
Contact local and national press.

That's a long backstory, reading it I wondered when you'd get to the PCN bit. However when I did get there I was totally appalled by UKPC's actions.
PALS have to cancel this. Surely they will ... unless they're utterly morally bankrupt. Sock it to them as you have to us. If they won't, consider taking this to the press.
Persevere with PALS as necessary but don't miss the POPLA deadline. Plod through the stages until you win as you surely must.5
