**** UPDATE ***** Never mind, they seem to be back again :-)

Does anyone know why Yorkshire Energy seems to have dropped off the Cheaper Energy list?

Thanks.

  • I signed up to Yorkshire Energy about a month ago because their dual fuel variable tariff came out cheapest. When I now enter my details on MSE Energy Club it is now nowhere near the cheapest. The variable tariff has changed on the MSE website, but not on my actual account when I log in. Has anyone else noticed this and know why? I've messaged YE but had no reply.

I'm in the same boat having only just moved to YE.  I guess I'd better switch to the new eOn fix quick then!

Try telling the CEC that you're with a different company and see whether that brings up 'hidden' YE results.  Also try other comparison sites.

    Same here.
Strange movement, as when my switch was almost done they inform me the prices went down and now I do not receive any communication for this hike.

I was very close to switching to YE in May but ultimately chose Outfox The Market because OTM was a fixed price with no exit fees and, while OTM had previously bad reviews, their recent customer service seems to have improved and YE were getting a flurry of complaints do to their sudden influx of customers. I'm pretty happy with my choice so far!

Very interesting answer from the company in a Trustpilot comment:

    Hi there,

Due to changes in the wholesale energy market, we recently increased our variable rates for new customer signing up after 10th May. When you signed up in April, you were placed on a market leading tariff and we are holding the rates for any customers who signed up to these rates prior to 10th May for as long as we are able. For these customers to get a true comparison, they need to set their tariff in their MSE account to “Yorkshire Energy Variable – to 10/05/20”.

To look into this further for you and raise the issue of your increased quote with MSE, we would really appreciate it if you could email help@ye.co.uk with your name and account number. Please use customer@Trustpilot as the subject and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

    Thank you.

I hope they email us when that happens.

I’ve checked the prices and YE went down.
for example 12.44p electric to 11.429p, all other figures went down

edit - I am on the good deal

For these customers to get a true comparison, they need to set their tariff in their MSE account to “Yorkshire Energy Variable – to 10/05/20”.

The dated variant didn't come up when I first amended my CEC details. Now that is in place I still have the best deal on the market - for now.
