Is it impossible to open Santander123 Mini Account?

Just spoke to Santander person on the phone and was advised that techically there is no way the Santander123 Mini account can be openned as online it can only be done by older children, they currently don't do account openning online and branches don't really work properly either due to social distancing, so was wondering if anyone found a way to open the one as their 3% saving rate is the best if those available after Nationwide reduced theirs from 3% to 1%.
Many Thanks

You could try HSBC but I doubt they will expose their staff any more than Santander to unnecessary risks associated with face-2-face meetings.

You can open some cash JISAs online, and I think all the S&S JISAs can be opened online.0
