Lloyds PPI

Could anyone tell me if Lloyds have put ongoing PPI claims on hold due to the Corona Virus.
Thanks

  • Claims should still be largely processed as normal.

PPI complaints will almost certainly have been deprioritised.

The actual answer as opposed to a guess is that yes, Lloyds paused all PPI claims handling literally since the day of lockdown (23 March). Only vulnerable customers were being worked. As of last Wednesday (13 May) they are starting to move again on restarting these services they paused.

They will prioritise three areas first though:

'We’ve started to reopen our dedicated PPI phone lines on a phased and limited basis, which will continue throughout May.  In line with FCA direction we are focusing on three areas:

    ·         paying customers promptly where we have offered redress

    ·         prioritising those most vulnerable with complaints in progress, and

    ·         sending timely updates on complaints which can’t be resolved promptly. '

So unless you fall into these - there is likely to be more delay to process your claim.

Virtually all centres and centralised work units have been closed as non-essential.  So, whilst the above is the answer for Lloyds, it will be a similar position with most banks.

If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

Whereas the bank I work for classed is as essential, so we’ve been working at full steam for the duration
