Definitely cheaper than a wholepeter12345678910 said:The new wall to the cinema room would need sound proofing if you like loud movies.
I used to have a very impressive cinema sound system in my other house, big speakers 7.2 meaning 2 subwoofers with a £500 dts HD ma amp Sony amp connected to a computer and ps3. But now I watch films in VR with headphones connected to a dual valve headphone amplifier.
cinema room, and a good MSE use of space!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thank you all very much for your feedback, its been very helpful.
The plan is to open up with space into a kitchen diner, and close off a second lounge / cinema room which has double pocket doors so it can also be opened out.
When we are able to visit family again, my builder (Dad) will help in assessing the internal walls and possibilities. Then I can send the measurements to a Kitchen Designer and finally get the house rewired
