Payments Halfway settlement

Hi all,  i have received a PPI repayment but haven't received any paper work saying how they have come to the figure received. 
After requesting more information after a third promise to resend i was told they've made (The Bank) has agreed to meet me with a halfway compensation payment??

I haven't had any discussion in regards this agreement or payment. I asked for them to email the paper work outlining the decision but say they must send through post again!? 
Anyway my question is, Is this normal and should i just take this half payment? My understanding is that all monies plus interest should be repaid?
Any knowledge and assistance would be greatly appreciated .

It depends on what sort of payment it is.

Not sure? No official paper work yet. In my BNK account it says (PPI Redress).
The wording used in my latest online chat states after my complaint the bank will meet me halfway and agreed compensation has been paid. ( P.S i didn't agree to anything  ).

Since PPI redress is defined as a full refund plus 8% simple interest, could your complaint be rejected and you received only a Plevin refund of undisclosed commission? 

I find it highly unlikely that any official communication from the Bank would make any mention of meeting you "halfway".

Basically, it's all or nothing.

The payment in my account states PPI Redress. the halfway comment was with a Bank employee on an online chat. (Screen shotted so still have this conversation )
Still awaiting paper work so will have to see what wording is used.

It just sounds like an incorrect phrase then, if it was only online chat.
