Planned Redundancy Eligible for Furlough?

The company I work for has been having several rounds of redundancy, dating back to pre-covid period. I had accepted voluntary redundancy and am scheduled to leave the company in July. When I do leave, do the government guidelines allow me to be rehired and furloughed? I can see from the guidelines that if I left to go to another job and it fell through I could be furloughed but I'm not sure about leaving via voluntary redundancy that isn't a result of Covid. I am looking for a job for when I leave, this is more additional security if I'm struggling to get a new job, I would imagine its not the best time to be looking

    See guidance:

"If you were made redundant or stopped working for your employer after 19 March 2020

Your employer can agree to re-employ you and place you on furlough. They’ll still be able to claim a grant to cover 80% of your regular wages from the date you were placed on furlough, up to a cap of £2,500 a month. This applies if you were made redundant or stopped working for them after 19 March 2020, as long as you were employed by them on 19 March 2020 and on their payroll on or before 19 March 2020. This means an RTI submission notifying payment in respect of you to HMRC must have been made on or before 19 March 2020."

A number of employers don't choose to rehire and furlough because of concerns that there could be continuity of employment, and the concern about the redundancy not being because of coronavirus. There are issues over holiday pay and entitlement. You can always ask.

With the furlough changes the chancellor announced the other day from the from the beginning of august your employer will have to contribute a still unknown amount to the 80% of your wages, along with the holidays you’d accrue. if the company were having to make redundancies before Covid came along then they’re probably not too keen to volunteer to keep people on and pay some of their wages when they were expecting to pay none.

If your employer was already in the process of making redundancies. Then the current crisis isn't going to make the situation any better. Totally the reverse.

Why would they pay you leave, then rehire you and potentially have you refuse to leave at the end. Whilst furloughed you are classed as being an employee, so still have all employment rights.
