I booked with last min. Com to go to New York in Dec and paid £163 deposit. If I decide to cancel where does it leave me regarding payment? Do I still have to pay the full amount or just lose the deposit.

You need to read the terms and conditions of your booking.
Could be just the loss of the £163, could be more if you paid under a low deposit scheme, could be more if you agreed that if you cancel the full non-refundable airline element is due.0
