Young silly debt £28 default Natwest

I am currently looking to buy a new home with my partner. I have signed up to credit Experian and noticed I have a NatWest default £28 lol from when I was a teenager. This is dated November 2014 is it something I should worry about or as it is coming up to 6 years shall I just leave it?
Thanks

Pay it, as there's no point sacraficing your banking relationship with RBS Group (who own Natwest) for the sake of £28.

Natwest may keep an internal record for a different length of time to Experian.

Agreed.  Pay it off, whether you think it's a lol or not.
  • Thank you for the advice. So if I pay this the default will not be started from today and last another 6 years?

    No.

The default date is Nov 14.

Defaults vanish from your credit file six years from the date they defaulted; irrespective of how much has been paid off and when.

Financial organisations may keep internal records for more or less time than credit reference agencies - this may mean, if you don't pay it off, RBS Group record a record of that for more than six years; and given that RBS Group offer a wide range of mortgages it's worth keeping them sweet in case your all of market broker feels they are the best lender for you when you find a house to buy.
