Cancellation of online course with Stonebridge College
Options
Hello
I enrolled on a online course with Stonebridge College in February 28 days later my school was closed due to Coronavirus and I was told my job was at risk because I work in the Private sector.
I emailed stonebridge college straight away asking if I can be taken off the course because I couldn’t afford the monthly fees of nearly £90 per month. The gentleman who says his the manager refused because it was 28 days after I enrolled the cooling off period is 14 days.
I haven’t made a payment yet because I can’t afford although they started hounding me like debt collectors so I sent another email two days ago explaining I have now lost my job due to Coronavirus , I am a single parent and my mental and physical health is suffering with all the stress and please would he reconsider because of the recent circumstances affecting the world and take me off the course. I’ve had no reply so I was wondering if anyone knows if there’s anyone I can contact to give me help or support with this situation?

Unfortunately, you either need to pay and do the course, or refuse to pay and have the debt collectors after you, with the potential consequences of that.
I would try to offer a settlement figure to put an end to it.0 -
Hi OP was your job furloughed or were you made redundant? As above really you don't have much choice.0
