Quietest Air Source Heat Pump?

My Daikin Altherma is pretty quiet (in fact quieter than the oil boiler over the other side of the road) but in the end it's your own perception of noise so you've got to go and listen to them yourself - check the specifications to see what they tell you.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

We have a Toshiba RAS-10G2KVP-E Ultra High Efficiency Air Conditioner/Heat Pump. Was installed nearly 4 years ago. It runs very quietly, both inside and outside. When we first got it, I used to check occasionally to see if the outside unit was running, because it was so quiet. It is also very efficient.

Air to Air or Air to Water? Power Rating needed? All the makers publish the numbers in a comparable form.
Our Fujitsu a-a units are quiet enough - but in our case the noise from the indoor units was most important for us. As Matelodave says our (and the neighbours) oil boilers are far noisier.
All the better known brands are likely to be and remain quiet. Your installation company(ies) quoting for the work will have a preference for make for many reasons - so speak to them as/when you shortlist them.

Thanks for you replies. It would be to supply ground floor under flooring heating, upstairs radiators and hot water to the whole home. Am considering solar panels to provide electricity to run the air source heat pump.
any recommendations for companies you have all used to quote and install your systems?0 -
Why would you want solar panels to run your heatpump - mine runs virtually 24 hours a day in the winter but the sun probably doesn't shine for much more than five or six and even then not every day and on the coldest days the sun hardly gets above the horizon.
During the summer it only uses 2-3kwh a day to heat our hot water so Icant see the point of solar panels. especially now that there are no FIT payments.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Solar can also be diverted to run the immersion and do the sterilisation process? Plus other use(s) by the OP. They will need to do due diligence i.e. the cost-benefit calculations, to see if it is a worthwhile investment for them.0
