Yes. As long as she is given 4 weeks notice to take the 2 weeks off. So if they are wanting to do that for May then they arent allowed to if they only told her this today.1

Yes she had a letter today to take holiday for this month0

In which case they havent given enough notice and she needs to point this out. Maybe someone can dig a link out.Pushpush said:Yes she had a letter today to take holiday for this month0 -
Was she told about having to take holiday when started on furlough? Usually it is part of the agreement, so maybe check with HR.0

No she wasn't told they have also said they won't be able to take any booked holiday that exceeds the rest of the holiday allowance and they will have to cancel it

Well I suppose she isnt going anywhere so thats not the end of the world.
Anyway I found a link. Employers can dictate when an employee takes holiday but as said, notice is required...

Is it really a battle worth fighting? In theory they could just say each day is separate holiday so two days’ notice for each day.

There's going to be huge pent up demand when the shop reopens. Given that employees are being paid the full 100% of salary. Would be a gesture to the employer to gracefully agree. Holiday leave having accrued during the furlough period as well.
Does your daughter want to progress her career with the company? Attitude and willingness will be noted. There'll be plenty of people looking for work in the months ahead.
