EasyJet refund to cancelled Credit Card

EasyJet cancelled my flights today and so I will be looking to get a refund.
Only issue is I have since cancelled the credit card I used to buy the flights.  I've followed through most of the refund process and have not been prompted for where I want the refund so assume it must be against the original credit card by default.
Does anyone have any experience with EasyJet of getting them to refund to a different card or bank account?
Thanks.

I have been told by my holiday provider (and others) that they have to refund to the original card.  In my case I accepted a voucher for the part that was on a closed credit card, but check with the card provider.  Tandem (as an example) cancelled a lot of cards due to change in terms and conditions, but there is a forum question that shows companies are refunding to closed Tandem cards and then customers are requesting (and getting) their money back from Tandem.  Might be worth a conversation with your ex-card supplier first.
  • As Bunyip suggests, if it is refunded to card on a closed account, you will still get the money, but will just need to request it.
Would be better if they could refund to a new card, of course, but I wouldn't worry too much about it if they won't do that.
My concern would be to get the money refunded ASAP. If there is anything we should have learnt over the last few weeks, is never assume that the situation and rules today will bear any resemblance to the situation and rules tomorrow.

I spoke to Virgin today and even if my card is cancelled they will still accept the refund.  I then just need to call and they will transfer to my bank account with no charges.

I got a refund from Premier Inn which went to my closed Tandem credit card.   I just phoned them and they sent the money to my bank account two days later.
  • Am watching with interest, awaiting the cancellation of our Easyjet flights to Spain, due to leave in just over a week & certain they will be cancelled. I paid for these flights a long long time ago, around September 2019. In the meantime, I had to change credit card due to fraud although it's the same account with the same credit provider.
