Hi,
my uncle received a letter about antigen research and possibly about claiming a free home testing kit from Imperial college. He asked if it was real as the letter appears extremely genuine, and doesn’t want to be scammed as he is in the vulnerable category. I tried the web address which came up with 404 not found in chinese and the phone number has been reported by some people as being a possible scam. Does anyone have information if this is true? Any help greatly appreciate!

You don't give enough information to judge, but based on what you say, I would assume it is a scam and treat it accordingly.

The letters being sent out are genuine but that of course depends on whether you got a a real one or not.

My husband had one and applied for the test online. Ipsos have confirmed on Twitter it's a genuine testing research. A friend also contacted Imperial College London and confirmed genuine. Maybe contact directly Ipsos or ICL and confirm the website and/or phone number?

Other people have commented that this is very similar to letters that are genuine. It is of course possible that a scammer has used something genuine to design a trick (eg the test turns out not to be free and then after he has paid never arrives). I suggest responding but on no account sending money...
