Refund of deposit for prom limo

Booked a limo for prom and paid deposit. Been advised by the school that due to the current situation it is cancelled and not being rescheduled. Been advised that due to their T and C’s not allowed a refund. Any advice as cancellation made indirectly by the government? Thx

Do they belong to any trade association? Not likely I know ..

If they're still able to provide the service (are they?) then no legal reason why they need to refund. If they cancel then yes you ought to get your money back.

Quite.

If they can legally collect you and drive you to the venue on the day in question then they don't have to give you a refund at all! It is not their fault the prom isn't taking place.

This is a bit like booking your airfare and hotel separately, then expecting the airline to refund your ticket if the hotel burns down!
