Deposit refund?

Three weeks before the lock down I put down  deposit on a new conservatory, work to start beginning of May, now of course because of the Corona virus the company is shut down and possible start date unknown they could also go bust being a relatively small company.
Looking into the future it would seem that there is no way a start can be made for many months especially as we are both well over the age of 70 and it is important for people such as us to stay self isolated, therefore we need to be very careful, which would mean that it may be next year before we can let people into our premises.
Do I have any claim to have my deposit refunded or do I need to trust to lady luck?

Is it possible for the conservatory to be built without violating self-distancing?  I would think it is, in most settings.

You need to speak to the company when they re-open and see what the options are.

Thanks for your reply - yes I think that may be a possibility, but the main concern is if they go bust and take my £1500 deposit with them.

If they're about to go bust then they're hardly likely to be in a position to hand back your deposit.

Hopefully they won’t go bust. They can furlough any staff they have and there is government loans and grants for small businesses. Hopefully they’ll be fine.
