iPad Pro Curve/Bend Issue

Hi, I bought my daughter a refurbished iPad Pro from Apple online at Christmas and 2 weeks ago it wouldn't power up. I contacted Apple online and they advised me to raise a repair. The iPad was sent away and when I checked the status of the repair it had been put on hold. I was given 3 options, to pay £397. + tax to repair, send unrepaired iPad back to me or speak to an advisor.  Apparently the iPad had a bend/curve in the casing which is classed as accidental damage (I hadn't even heard of this bend/curve issue). I googled what this actually meant and as far as I can make out this is due to the temperature at the manufacturing process.  Also, Apple's VP states even if you buy an iPad with a curve/bend it will not effect the lifespan or function, therefore I am really disgusted that Apple are trying to say it is due to accidental damage. I didn't even realise there was a bend on the iPad. The iPad was was set up on Christmas day then placed into a protective case and has been in the case since then.  I refused to pay for the repair and they have now sent the iPad back to me.  Any advise on where I go from here, I feel totally ripped off after paying £700 for an iPad that has only lasted 5 months.
