Currys broadband swap Cashback deal

Options
I am absolutely disgusted with currys and don’t believe their sales technique falls in to legal, or at best morally correct. We went to look at TVs and were told they had a deal if you spent over £100 and swapped broadband providers, you get £100 Cashback and £50 to spend in store. We went home to think about it, went back to store a few days later to clarify their deal and told yes, it’s legit and explained how you had to claim it. The TV we wanted wasn’t available to buy in store so they advised us to order it online, then go back to the store if we wanted the deal. Did so, bought TV, went back and swapped broadband with them. Told we should get the £50 voucher soon and wait 45 days to claim Cashback. At about 30 days, the country closed down. I started emailing currys to query how to proceed, we had not had either offer. Over the next 2 months, I received several automated responses to the many emails I sent but never an answer. I know things are difficult but 2 months and no response! I then stumbled across the right web page, after I’d been searching for weeks, so put in the claim. Got told we weren’t allowed to have it because we ordered the tv online. Asked them to reconsider and told no. We can’t even go down there to query this as they are closed. It’s disgusting sales techniques and should not be allowed. Has anyone else had any joy with this deal? I’ve spent hours and hours trying to sort this, despite working up to 50 hours a week in a care home in the middle of a pandemic. Any help would be much appreciated.

You'll have to wait until their stores open again, go in and explain to a manager.  No point spending hours trying to sort it remotely at the moment.  You should get the £150, it'll just take a while.

It's a mistake.  Sounds like you were mistakenly given the wrong advice.  It's not illegal, nor is it immoral.  You have other priorities at the moment, so deal with it when you are better able to.
