O% BT Question

Forgive me, I'm new to this.
Situation is as follows:
40 month interest free period ending next month.
I've opened a new BT card, and they asked me if I wanted to transfer a balance. Gave them the amount on my current card.
Question is - am I able to transfer more than once? i.e. - can I make a largish purchase on my current card now and transfer the £500 or so quid onto the new card next week or so.
I appreciate it maybe different at different providers, but just if anyone has an idea that would be really helpful. Many thanks in advance.

  • You can balance transfer more than once but you need to check how long the BT 'window' is open for, they usually stipulate you can transfer a balance or balances only within the first 60-90 days of opening account depending on which card provider it is, it will be in your T&C,s.

Yes you can make your purchase and then balance transfer that amount to your new card providing you've got a big enough credit limit for multiple B/T,s and purchase of course.

And its normally not adviseable to use the same card for both purchases and balance transfers, as they will each have different rates, and you may find yourself paying interest when you don't expect to
