Hi,
I missed payments on my water bill for quite a long time. These have now all been paid and the account has been brought completely up to date but the entries on my credit file don't seem to match the payment history.
History:
I didn't make any payments between early 2013 and May 2018.
In May 2018 I made a full payment for the 2018/2019 water bill.
Between August to 2018 to May 2019 I made payments of £200 per month to clear the arrears.
In March 2019 I made a full payment for the 2019/2020 water bill
On my Equifax report it is showing no entries until January 2018 (It shows the account being opened in 2011 which is correct).
Jan & Feb 2018 is status OK
Mar 2018 is status 1, Apr status 2 then it continues until Aug status 6. Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec also all have a status 6
Jan, Feb & Mar 2019 is status Q and from Apr it's showing as OK
(It's probably worth pointing out that the arrears were collected by Moorcroft).
Could anyone shed any light on what should actually be recorded?. Presumably the missed payments should have been recorded earlier but I'm unsure whether the account should have been defaulted or not.

Contact the water company and ask them how they mark delinquent accounts0

Thanks D3xt3r5L4b, I will, I was just hoping to get as much information before I do contact them.
From looking at the ICO guidelines it looks like it should be defaulted sometime between 3 - 6 months. From 6 years after that default, all records of that default should then be removed, I'm not sure if my understanding of that is correct?.
I'm also unsure if that applies to accounts which have been closed or accounts which are still open.
