Holiday Refund Payments

I paid a deposit through paypal and then made 2 instalments. One a debit card and one on a credit card. I am now requiring a refund. Does the travel agency have to refund via the same methods of payment? (The deposit refunded to paypal + a payment to my debit card + a payment to my credit card). Or, can I have it all paid via one method? if so can I choose the method?

TUI offered to pay me back by a bank transfer when I originally paid by a credit card but I suspect all operators will have different rules so nobody can really help you unless you tell us who it is.2
