Hi
I book a villa in Spain to go on holiday on the 12th of June with friends but booked my flights separately as we were flying from different parts of the country. The holiday villa company had no problems refunding are money for the villa as we will be unable to travel to Spain under the current situation. but ryanair are still telling me my flight isn't cancelled so i am not entitled to a refund although Spain are not allowing tourist from Britain in at the moment and i have no where to stay .is this right

You will have to wait until they do cancel the flight.2

Yes it is right. If you cancel you get nothing. Have you actually cancelled the flights?smudger114 said:Hi

Do you have insurance?1 -
No I haven't cancelled the flights, and unfortunately was getting insurance before we fly as we normally do. so no insurance either, I did pay for the flights with my credit card though. Not sure if i can go down that avenue though0

How can they not cancel the flight if everyone is on lockdown? If they are flying then the lockdown must have been lifted enough to allow people to travel by air.
Ryanair want to restart flights soon for this reason - if they can provide the flight but you don't turn up for whatever reason (e.g. you cancelled the villa you were staying at) then they don't need to refund. It's sneaky because they know a lot of people won't be able to make it.0 -
Let's see how events unfold. There's no fixed timeline. Speculation is pointless given the fluidity of the situation everywhere.smudger114 said:

I changed some flights to Dublin with Ryanair from the middle of March to the end of July as I was worried about Covid19. I had to pay an extra £15 for these second flights. Ryanair then cancelled the July flights and I applied for a refund. I’ve just received an email from them with a travel voucher which I do not want. It’s not very clear from the website if I now have to reapply for the refund or just wait for it to come if I’m not going to use the voucher. Does anyone know? Also, I paid for the original flights with a credit card but paid the extra £15 by debit card. Where would I stand with Chargeback? Thanks!0
